Edison Square
Century City, Cape Town
A 3000sqm office development designed around a central, common courtyard space with impressive views of Table Mountain. The building was designed to allow maximum flexibility in the way it can be partitioned into small or large office floorplates. It is conceptualised as an urban perimeter building with a ‘nodal’ drum feature on a prominent street corner giving the building its address.
Building materials such as steel, exposed concrete and bagged brickwork have been carefully considered to develop a robust modern building language. Feature elements such as pop-out balconies create interest by interrupting the repetitive modular office facades and a slender, floating roof gives the building a unique pavilion-like aesthetic.
